Had my first visit to one of my favorite viewing locations in about 3 yrs and found the powers that be totally screwed up the viewing platform. They installed a black slatted fence about 6 ft high with slots only about 2 inches apart making it impossible to take decent photo's from it. Hell it was even difficult looking through the barrier. Tingalpa Model Aero Club has been successful in recent times with Brisbane City Council grant to assist with the building Eastern Boundary fence & the completion of the adjoining walkway from the bunker to the extend viewing platform above the new canteen block.
President Willem Sipma & the executive committee have worked very hard to complete these projects for the benefit to club members. TMAC received the grant and would like to thank all who have assisted in gaining success for all future members to enjoy. The Grant was supported by the Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiative Fund and Doboy Ward.
The view of Ground Zero from the reopened West Side Highway could soon be as good as from the official viewing platform. And city officials are so worried about rubbernecking drivers that they've begun erecting an 8-foot-high fence along the western edge of the World Trade Center site.
The West Side Highway - where traffic has been detoured since Sept. 11 - will fully reopen April 1. The new fence will block out most of the view of the nearly cleared Ground Zero. But drivers will still have a closeup look at the damaged, glass-enclosed Winter Garden shopping complex along the Hudson River.
And they'll pass the World Financial Center's American Express Building, whose facade is still being repaired after it was punctured by cascading steel beams. Viewing platform fence
Without the new barricades along the highway, "there would be a tendency to get a bottleneck going," said Tom Cocola, a spokesman for the city Department of Transportation. "We think it's a prudent thing to do." If the fencing doesn't prevent traffic backups, the city might build a 30-foot wood wall around portions of Ground Zero. The Battery Tunnel will reopen to passenger cars the same day as the highway, which will have three lanes in each direction.

This one is a keeper. No, I don't mean this blog article. Nor do I mean any of the recent outdoor living projects we've completed here in the Des Moines area. While we've certainly been exceptionally busy since Fall with the mild Winter and Spring – allowing us to build some very nice deck, porch and patio projects, our clients think those are all keepers, though.
But in a bittersweet end, those pages will be no more. Its sad to see Homestyle go, yet I certainly understand. More and more of you now find us – and nearly everything else – via the internet today. And, to be honest, its more effective – cost-wise, reach-wise, message-wise – for us to be found on the internet. Video killed the radio star. And Microsoft, Google and Apple killed the print star.
Or did they? Last I checked, radio still exists….even on the internet….and as a result, in even more specialized and targeted forms, not to mention from nearly every corner of the earth. Maybe video actually created more radio stars…but diluted the term "stars?" Wood plastic composite production
